Children & Families
We believe God created families so children can experience His love, feel safe, and learn what it means to love others. When a child is separated from family, they become far more vulnerable to violence, trafficking, and exploitation. That's why HHA is not an orphanage, but a Christ centered ministry committed to helping children grow up in stable, loving families whenever possible.
Whether through family preservation, foster care, or other supportive programs, we strive to surround every child with caring adults who provide safety, encouragement, and the opportunity to flourish. Across all our ministries, we embrace a Family Strengthening approach that equips parents, caregivers, and families with the resources, training, and support they need to thrive. As families grow stronger, children experience the security, love, and hope that God intends and communities are strengthened for generations to come.
OUR PROGRAMS
REUNIFICATION & FOSTER CARE
Most children living in orphanages are not truly orphaned. They have parents or relatives who love them deeply but lack the resources needed to care for them safely. We believe no child should be separated from family simply because of poverty.
Whenever possible, our first goal is to help children remain safely connected to their biological families. When reunification is not possible, we partner with local churches to identify, train, and support loving foster families who can provide a safe, nurturing home. Every family receives individualized support through parent coaching, family engagement, business and employment opportunities, regular home visits, and assistance with education and medical care. By strengthening families, we help children experience the security, belonging, and love God intends for them
FAMILY HOMES
Whenever possible, our hope is to see children safely reunified with their biological families. Yet we also recognize that reunification is not always possible. When a child has been abandoned, neglected, or cannot safely return home; and when foster care is not an option, we welcome them into one of our family homes at Kay Anj Village.
There, children are embraced by loving, Christ centered families led by trained Christian house parents who provide stability, consistency, and trauma-informed care. These homes are more than a place to live, they are families where children are deeply known, protected, encouraged, and given the opportunity to heal, grow, and become the people God is calling them to be.
TRANSITIONAL PROGRAM
In Haiti, children living in residential care must legally leave their family home when they turn 18. For many young adults, this means aging out of care with nowhere to go and no support system, leaving them vulnerable to homelessness, exploitation, and poverty.
When the first students at Kay Anj Village reached this milestone, we knew our commitment to them could not end there. By God's grace, we created our Transitional Program to help young adults move confidently into safe, stable, and independent adulthood.
Each young adult follows an individualized plan built around their God given gifts, talents, and goals. Through continued education, life-skills training, vocational preparation, business development, discipleship, and employment opportunities, they are equipped to become self-sustaining adults who strengthen their families, serve their communities, and become the leaders God is calling them to be.

INDEPENDENCE PROGRAM
The Independence Program provides the next step for young adults as they prepare to live independently while remaining connected to the support, encouragement, and community of Kay Anj Village. Participants live in carefully selected homes within Dekle/Limonade sharing life with peers while continuing to receive mentoring and guidance.
During this season, they develop practical life skills such as budgeting, employment readiness, household management, and wise decision making; all while remaining rooted in the community they call home. As they grow in confidence, responsibility, and faith, they become equipped to build stable, self-sustaining lives that strengthen their families and serve their communities.
