Community Empowerment
Strong families help build strong communities. At HHA, we believe children flourish when the families and communities around them are healthy, resilient, and filled with hope. That's why our work extends beyond the classroom and family home to invest in the well-being of the entire community.
Together with Haitian leaders, families, churches, and local partners, we help create opportunities that strengthen livelihoods, improve health, promote safety, and encourage wise stewardship of resources. As people discover and develop their God given gifts, families grow stronger, communities flourish, and the next generation is equipped to build a brighter future for Haiti.
DENTAL CARE AT KAY ANJ VILLAGE

DENTAL CARE FOR ALL STUDENTS
All 500+ students at the Good Samaritan Schools receive annual dental care through our clinic, ensuring that every child has access to essential preventive services. By addressing dental needs early, we help students stay healthy, confident, and ready to learn.

LOW-COST DENTAL CARE FOR THE COMMUNITY
We also provide low-cost dental care to the surrounding community, offering families a trusted place to receive treatment they can afford. Through this outreach, we are helping reduce suffering, prevent future complications, and bring vital health services to those who need them most.
SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE

ORGANIC FARMING
Agriculture is an essential part of helping families flourish in Dekle. As food prices rise and employment opportunities remain limited, sustainable farming provides nourishment, creates livelihoods, and strengthens long-term food security. That's why agriculture is woven throughout life at Kay Anj Village from our classrooms to our farms.
Using natural, traditional growing methods, we cultivate healthy soil through composting, reduce erosion, and care for God's creation without relying on synthetic chemicals. Today our farms produce yucca, yams, plantains, spinach, peppers, beets, and many other crops that nourish students and families while equipping the next generation with the knowledge and skills to steward the land for years to come.

ANIMAL HUSBANDRY
Our Animal Husbandry Program gives young adults in the Transitional Program hands-on experience in livestock care, nutrition, infrastructure, and basic veterinary practices. As they care for cows, goats, and chickens, they develop practical skills that prepare them for future employment, entrepreneurship, and responsible stewardship.
Beyond providing an important source of protein for our community, this growing program creates opportunities for young adults to build meaningful careers while contributing to the long term well being of their families and community.

CLEAN WATER & FOOD
Clean water and nutritious food are foundational to healthy families and thriving communities. At Kay Anj Village, every building has access to purified well water and indoor plumbing through the only well within a five-mile radius.
Each day, students, teachers, and staff receive nutritious meals prepared with produce grown on our farms whenever possible. Through agriculture education, community meals, and food distribution ministries led by Hope Church, we help strengthen food security while creating spaces where relationships are built, needs are met, and communities grow together.

COMPOSTING
Stewarding God's creation is an important part of building a healthy, sustainable community. Through a partnership with Extollo International, we recently launched a community composting initiative that equips students and families to transform organic waste into nutrient-rich soil.
In a region without public waste management, composting reduces waste, restores soil health, strengthens agricultural production, and provides practical knowledge that families can apply in their own gardens and farms. It's one more way we're investing in the long-term flourishing of the community.

TRAINING & EDUCATION
We believe agriculture can provide meaningful work, strengthen families, and create lasting opportunities for future generations. That's why agricultural education is woven throughout life at Kay Anj Village.
Students receive both classroom instruction and hands-on experience alongside experienced farmers, learning everything from planting and harvesting to sustainable irrigation and soil management. Community members are also invited to participate in agricultural training that equips them with practical skills to improve crop production, care for the land, and build more sustainable livelihoods.
SAFETY & SECURITY

KEEPING THE VILLAGE SAFE
A safe environment allows children to learn, families to flourish, and communities to grow. That's why safety and security are woven into every aspect of life at Kay Anj Village.
Our Haitian staff receive ongoing training in CPR, fire safety, child protection, and emergency preparedness to help ensure the well-being of every child, employee, volunteer, and guest. Through careful planning, trusted local leadership, and close collaboration between our teams in Haiti and the United States, we strive to provide a secure environment where children can learn, families can thrive, and ministry can flourish.
EMPLOYMENT & ENTREPRENEURSHIP

EQUIPPING YOUNG ADULTS FOR OPPORTUNITY
Meaningful work creates opportunities for individuals, strengthens families, and benefits entire communities. Our Employment & Entrepreneurship Program helps young adults discover how their God-given gifts and skills can be used to build a sustainable future.
Through career planning, job readiness, vocational guidance, and entrepreneurial mentoring, participants prepare for employment or business ownership that aligns with their strengths and interests. By staying connected to employers and emerging opportunities throughout northern Haiti, we help equip young adults to pursue meaningful work, provide for their families, and become the leaders God is calling them to be.
